In this workshop for kids and their family members, we'll learn the basics of mindfulness--what it is, why it’s useful, and how to start practicing it in your daily life. We’ll do some mindfulness exercises together as a class, and learn others that you can do on your own or as a family.
In times of uncertainty and change, having the skills to ground yourself in awareness can be an invaluable tool. For busy families, it can be difficult to know how to slow down your racing mind--no matter how old you are!
In this mindfulness workshop, you’ll learn some of the incredible ways that mindfulness can help improve your family’s lifestyle--from alleviating stress and anxiety to improving brain function, memory, and cognitive processes.
Together, we’ll put some of these practices to the test. You’ll learn how and when to practice mindfulness, whether on your own or with the whole family.
For this class, you will need:
A comfortable place to sit and/or lay down
Chocolate (1 piece for each family member)
Paper and crayons
Hello, and welcome! My name is Ms. Rosie, and I am so excited to learn with you. I am a certified teacher from Colorado, and I have been living and teaching in Taiwan for the past two years. In addition to classroom teaching, I am also a certified Rainbow Kids Yoga teacher, and I have been trained in the Positive Discipline approach. I believe that young learners have a lot to offer the world, and that it is my responsibility as their teacher to help empower them to make their own authentic choices. I love yoga, Harry Potter, bright colors, exciting stories, and new ideas!
